Our Team

Nancy Speas

My clients describe me as authentic, caring, and creative. I utilize an integrated approach to counseling, drawing on ideas from the person-centered, psychodynamic, experiential, cognitive behavioral, family systems, internal family systems, and play therapy traditions. I particularly enjoy working with moms and families dealing with trauma and transition, including addiction, medical diagnosis/crisis/trauma, divorce, and past abuse, and with children, teens, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, medical complications/trauma or special needs, grief or loss, and eating disorders.

I've got two kids, two dogs, and two cats and over 20 years of experience working with children and their families in a variety of settings. I would be honored to work with you and yours.

I have a Master of Divinity degree from Emory University and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling/ Marriage & Family Therapy from Belmont. I have completed Onsite's Experiential Therapy Training Institute and received additional training in Internal Family Systems, Sand Tray Therapy, Short-term Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I'm a Marriage & Family Therapist licensed by the state of Tennessee (#2179).
